It Was An Evening of
Great Conversation
TCU’s Mary Couts Burnett Library kicked off the year with a
blowout event – An Evening of Great Conversation!
On March 7, more than 120 people met and mingled, conversed
and chuckled, sipped and savored, and brought the lost art
of conversation to life. From musicians to sports champions,
business leaders to whiskey distillers, journalists to hall-of-
famers, cultural leaders to politicians, guests enjoyed a unique
and memorable experience talking and connecting with our
distinguished “Great Conversationalists.” It was an exceptional
evening dedicated to celebrating the intellectual heart of Texas
Christian University.
The library hosted a dinner party featuring local luminaries and
stimulating conservationists in the beautiful Gearhart Reading
Room of the Mary Couts Burnett Library. It was an evening
filled with friends, fine food from Bonnell’s Texas Cuisine, live music from our music/media librarian Cari Alexander,
compelling conversation and fun as we raised funds to heighten the library’s international collections and to strengthen
TCU’s curriculum. Proceeds directly impact our students and faculty by broadening the scope of their global learning and
teaching with prestigious peer-reviewed scholarly material and allows the TCU Library to support new programs.
“What a fantastic evening. Every piece was phenomenal!” said Justin Frazell. “It was a real honor for me to attend and
take part in this special event.”
“This event was exceptional!” commented Stephanie Brentlinger. “Great conversations and great food in our beautiful
library – what more could one ask for!”
