True Proxy Server: URL points directly to vendor system:

Browser sees that vendor

domain should be proxied,

and transparently routes

to library server.

URL-rewriter: URL points to script on Library server, vendor URL is a

parameter passed to the script.

Browser doesn’t know anything special is happening (needs no configuration).

then rewrites HTML
