Downloading Acrobat Reader Software
Adobe
Acrobat Download Site - This site has links to the latest version of Acrobat
Reader, and complete installation instructions. It is frequently busy,
so if you have problems with it, you may want to click on one of the links below
to download a copy from the TCU library server.
Acrobat Reader for Windows 2000/XP (Acrobat Reader version 7)
Acrobat Reader for Windows 95
Acrobat Reader for Windows 3.1
- When you click on one of the links above, you should receive a "Save
As" box (in Netscape), or "Save it to Disk" box (Internet Explorer).
Remember the directory and file name you save it as. The file you've
saved is an installation program that can be run like any other Windows program.
- Exit your Web browser.
- Use either the Windows Run command or File Manager (Win3.1), or Windows
Explorer (Win95/98/2000) to start running the program you just saved.
- Follow the instructions on your screen.
- If there is a failure at any point during the installation of Acrobat Reader
3.01 for Windows 3.1, the installer performs a complete uninstall. For this
reason, it is important not to close the installer application by clicking
its close box in the upper right corner of the background window after clicking
the "Thank You" dialog box that appears at the end of the installation.
If you wait for a second or two, the installer will automatically close the
background windows after the installation is complete.

- The file you download will be expanded to the self-extracting archive "Reader 3.01
Installer." If your Web browser isn't configured to automatically launch an
application such as StuffIt Expander(TM) to expand .hqx or .bin files, you'll need to
manually launch an application to expand the downloaded file to produce Reader 3.01
Installer.
- Double-click the file "Reader 3.01 Installer ". (Note: This will cause all
current Mac applications to quit.)
- Follow the instructions on your screen.
