Two Types of Article Databases

Type 2.   Subject Specific Databases -- Is your topic in a particular subject area?

If so, use a subject database. Subject databases specialize in a particular subject, and the articles indexed are generally from scholarly sources.

Business Source Complete

Business Source Complete provides full text and abstracting for nearly 9000 scholarly business journals. Subjects covered include marketing, management, accounting, finance and economics. Content includes case studies, investment research reports, industry reports, market research reports, country reports, company profiles, and SWOT analyses.

JSTOR contains full text of back issues of journals in many different subject areas. It is especially strong in Arts and Sciences. It is possible to search the contents of all the JSTOR journals using this link.

Gale Literary Databases -- Dictionary of Literary Biographies The Dictionary of Literary Biography outlines the lives and careers of nearly 10,000 authors from all eras and genres and summarize the critical response to their work.
