American Periodicals Series
American Periodical Series is a multidisciplinary full text collection of over 1,100 periodicals that first began publishing between 1740 and 1900, including special interest and general magazines, literary and professional journals, children's and women's magazines, and many other historically-significant periodicals.

Researchers can see all of the original typography, drawings, graphic elements, and article layouts exactly as they were originally published.

This comprehensive database includes information from the Complete Marquis Who's Who as well as more than 350 periodicals to provide both narrative, thumbnail and full-text periodical profiles. Books in Print
Books in Print provides complete publishers information, bibliographic, book ordering and subject classification information for all titles covered. BIP includes scholarly, popular, adult, juvenile, reprint and all other types of books covering all subjects provided they are published or exclusively distributed in the U.S. and are available to the trade or to the general public. Audio books and video titles are also included as well as titles declared out of print from July 1979 to the present.

CenStats (Census Data)

netLibrary is an expanding collection of online electronic books. The multidisciplinary collection features scholarly and reference materials, including many university presses, offering full text searching capabilities. Content can then be viewed online. Oxford English Dictionary (OED Online)
The online version of the Oxford English Dictionary contains the complete text of the 20-volume Second Edition, first published in 1989, together with its 3-volume Additions Series, published in 1993 (volumes 1 and 2) and 1997 (volume 3). RefWorks
RefWorks is software for managing article citations and other research data. It helps researchers gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies. First time users should sign up for an individual account. Citations can automatically be output as footnotes and bibliographies, in a variety of styles. A difference from many similar products is that RefWorks is online, rather than being software that you install on a particular computer. Thus, information you save is accessible from any computer with a web browser and internet connection.

Texas Digital Sanborn Maps
TCU has access to Texas maps within this collection. Digital Sanborn Maps, 1867-1970 provides access to more than 660,000 large-scale maps of more than 12,000 American towns and cities. Sanborn fire insurance maps are the most frequently consulted maps in both public and academic libraries. Sanborn maps are valuable historical tools for urban specialists, social historians, architects, geographers, genealogists, local historians, planners, environmentalists and anyone who wants to learn about the history, growth, and development of American cities, towns, and neighborhoods. They include information such as the outline of each building, the size, shape and construction materials, heights, and function of structures, location of windows and doors. The maps also give street names, street and sidewalk widths, property boundaries, building use, and house and block numbers.
